Welcome to LightCone8, a flexible tabular/charting cosmological calculator for the history and the future of
expansion of the universe. Lightcone is based on the standard LCDM cosmic model. You specify the range and number
of steps of a table and it gives you times, distances and a host of optional values, characterizing the cosmic
expansion history and/or future in that range. The calculator has two input data-sets to choose from, but the
values can be adjusted as the user requires.
If you adjust the cosmological values by any appreciable amount, you will be calculating for a different universe,
not necessarily ours. It is best to leave them at one of the two default (Planck or WMAP) values for now,
otherwise you may get results that are difficult to understand. You may want to play around with various redshift
(z) ranges for your output table, though.
Further, the user can select various sets of output columns to tabularize/chart over ranges of redshift values.
For more information, hover over the ? circles (tooltips) on the calculator. There is also a short user guide
available at
this Wiki.
